Back-to-school drive

Our back-to-school supply drive takes place annually from August 14th-22nd, the date that Panago was first admitted to St. Joe's hospital until his passing at Harbourview Medical Center. Supplies are distributed to students and families the first week of school via the Principal and staff.

Panago's legacy scholarship

Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Panago knew his conviction for justice and equality for all people regardless of race, sexual orientation, ability or gender. In honor of our beloved, resilient, and talented Panayotis (Panago) Horton this scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior(s) from a local Tacoma high school. The scholarship is given to those that demonstrate their commitment to social justice and equity. Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen from the Ready to Rise program.

Special thanks to Panago's ActSix cadre members Angela and Jon and founder Tim Herron.

Recipients attend a high

school in the local Tacoma area

We have chosen to start our school supply program at Jason Lee Middle School because this is where Panago spent most of his time creating an after-school program during his service years with AmeriCorps. Going forward we plan to expand these programs to more Tacoma schools especially at the elementary level. Details to come soon.
